Hello, world. In case you were wondering, no, I have not disappeared off the face of the earth. (Sorry. ) It's just been a long week for me, both academically and socially, so I haven't really put much priority into dA. Not to mention, since my Wii died, I pulled out my N64 and have been playing that quite a bit. I've really missed the good ol' days of 64-bit. It really brings me back to all the hours I wasted as a little kid sitting in front of a screen.

So anyways, I will get around to going through my deviations and messages this weekend. Fortunately, I don't have many. Expect new art within the next few weeks, of any medium. I've been feeling rather prosperous in that sense, at least in terms of writing melodies and doing Photoshop work. I might even play with Terragen or some writing, if I get really ambitious. Speaking of songwriting, I might be playing guitar at a fundraiser for my school. It's only 15 minutes' worth, but I figure it's a nice way to waste time, (as if I really need more ways. )

~Tooncouplefanatic brought up the idea of doing collaborations, and after thinking about it, I think I'm interested in doing some collab work, too, if anyone is. Whichever genre you prefer... I'm proficient in a handful now, even though my freehand sketching is still dreadful. Notice that I haven't uploaded any like I said I would? There's a good reason for that.

I suppose that's all I have to report for now. Stay devious.

Yep, I finally did it. Those 250 built up journals, 500 deviations, and countless activity messages? I finally eliminated them all. I'm sorry to all of you whose work I never got to, but it was just getting out of hand, and I got sick of pretending that I would actually go through them all someday. It's my own fault for watching so many people, many of whom have work that's of no interest to me. I've been avoiding deviantART to a degree because I've become so backed up. I know it's not as though I'm actually obligated to look through anyone's stuff, but I still feel a bit selfish for spamming you with all the crap I call art without paying any attention to yours. I do plan on changing that for the future, by keeping current with my messages, that way they don't get backed up so badly, and I will again become an active member here. If you feel that I may have missed something important of yours, just let me know and I'll look into it. I'm always up for a good chat, too, if you've had something noteworthy in a journal. On a more harsh note, if I owe you a favor, contest entry, tag, or anything similar, you might as well forget about it unless you give me a direct (and possibly violent) reminder.

Anyways, now to my own personal rambling. Life has been good, or as good as it could be. Last week I played a gig on my birthday at the town's local Winterfest, and it went quite well. I have some pictures which I may end up posting here if I feel ambitious. On the note of my birthday, I also got a decent scanner, so maybe I'll upload some freehanded stuff, even though all my sketches are horrid. I also got a huge new stick welder, so I plan on doing some heavy-duty metal work when things heat up again. I already have some new ideas...

What else...? I'm on break this week, so I'm basically just lazing around. Playing a lot of guitar, mainly. I suppose that's really about all I have to say, sadly. Maybe I've just grown boring. Ah well. It's late anyways. Sorry again for being an unreliable deadbeat.

Hello, fellow deviants. I return once again to the cyber world after being away for so long. I should start by wishing you a very belated happy holidays and happy new year, as I haven't read more than a few journals since December, and I have over 150 accumulated, as well as 450 deviations. I've been trying to read and view them a few at a time, but I've made the mistake of watching everyone who watches me, so now I get a lot of stuff which has no appeal whatsoever to me. I may or may not end up deleting them all, soon. Don't be offended if I overlooked something of yours, just message me if there's something you want me to see/know. On the same note, if I owed you a task, request, contest, favor, or something similar, chances are slim that I will finish it unless you actually ask me to.

Well... for those of you who care about my life, (if there are any of you, ) I am well, for the most part. There have been drastic changes in my household since my last journal, which is partially to blame for my lack of being around. But I survived them and am doing fine. My art has not stopped, I just don't do hardly any digital work these days. School is still a drag, and I have an English regents this week, but I'm getting through somehow. I'm beginning to hone into what I want in my future, and while school does not play a major role, I'm still doing my best to at least pass.

I've been invited to play guitar at a local event called the Winterfest, along with my friend ~TheEndofDarkDays and my father. It'll be my first hired gig in over a year, and also the first one I'll have to sing at. I'm a bit nervous, but at the same time, excited to be out playing again. My dad gave me his prized Gibson SG Menace (electric guitar) and Crate stack (huge tube amplifier) as early birthday presents, which gives me another reason to play more. I'm beginning to go from being an intermediate-level player to an advanced player. If I continue to progress at this rate, I will be amazing before too long.

In terms of metal work... I'm not doing any right now because my forge is buried in snow, and I have no coal to burn. But my grandfather has advised me to enter some local gun and knife shows to display my work, and make a few commissions. If I could earn an income that way, I would certainly do so without question. For those of you have have ordered metal tools/weapons from me, I will have my forge going by spring, so I can begin working on your orders if you're still interested.

I haven't forgotten about Plateau of the Mojave, although everyone here probably has. I'll pick up on it soon, maybe even tonight if I feel ambitious. Which reminds me... my girlfriend is now teasing me, calling me a cosplayer because I bought a black leather trench coat and fedora like Mojave's protagonist, Konig. But I look cool in it anyhow, so it works. And she is completely awesome, so I'm not offended. Anyways, more Mojave to come.

In conclusion, I am alive and doing quite well. I apologize for being so unreliable and unpredictable as a deviant, but just know that I am not angry at anyone, just preoccupied. As always, feel free to message me or request something if you have the urge. Until next time.

The title says it all. Despite my complete lack of recent activity and total unreliability, I am still alive. I'm not going to justify my absence, but I have been busy lately, nonetheless. I have a ton of old journals and comments to view, and I haven't commented on any new deviations in about a month. Needless to say, I'm incredibly backed up in terms of my inbox.

I should clarify something while I'm on it: I do read and view everything you post. That includes deviations, comments, replies, news, journals, even scraps. Just because I don't comment doesn't mean I don't like it. There was a time when I had the motivation and leisure to comment on every single thing, especially for unpopular artists whom I feel deserve the support. However, I have made the critical mistake of watching everyone who watches me, and so now my inbox fills right up even after being away for a day. And... it might hurt you to hear this, but not all the deviations I receive are "good" art. There, I said it. I know art is perception, and quality of work differs from person to person. But some people are just not artists. I'm not saying that I am great, nor am I putting anyone else down (if you ask me what kind of artist I think you are, I probably won't answer.) My point is, while some of the art I see is brilliant work by skilled artists, a very large portion of it is just the same, unskilled, cookie-cutter crap I'm used to.

Regardless, that's no excuse to shun all the excellent friends I've met here, and for that, I sincerely apologize. I haven't been here for a good handful of reasons. Aside from putting a lot of commitment into my music and "tangible" art, preparing gifts for Christmas, I've had to deal with increasingly-difficult schoolwork, a crazier-by-the-day home life, and some new social ambitions, namely my band and sweetheart. I'm not going to give details on anything more because this isn't my place to do that. Not to mention, I've been unreliable for you; why should I make you read about my eventful life? If you really care to know, I'm always open for a good chat. (See my contact info or just send me a note - I always check those.)

I suppose all I'm trying to say is... I'm around, and I do care about you all, I've just been a little tied up. If I owe you a request or favor, or even if you just want to talk, just give me a poke and I'll try my best to get around to it sooner than later. I'm going to try to respond to my comments first, and then I'll work my way into journals and deviations. Also, don't take the whole "crappy art" thing personally, I just had to vent a bit.

If we don't talk in the near future, then have a great holiday season and a happy new year.
